The Fatherhood Project

When & Where

  • First Gathering: Sunday, 19 October at 2 pm, meeting at the Fitzroy Beach Kiosk then going for a walk along the walkway. Tamariki welcome!
  • Following Months: Each month brings a fresh format, think creative workshops, hands-on projects, reflective kōrero, and more, designed for fathers and tamariki to connect and grow in community.

About the Fatherhood Project

We believe that “in every father, there is wisdom waiting to be shared.” Through structured gatherings, skill-sharing, and shared experiences, we invite fathers to show up as they are; to teach, to learn, and to build community. From relaxed walks to dad-led workshops, each event is an invitation to belong, to contribute, and to grow in a collective that cherishes fatherly wisdom and whānau wellbeing.

Why Attend

  • Strengthen Bonds with Your Tamariki: Engage in meaningful, hands-on experiences and kōrero that enrich the father–child connection.
  • Build Your Village: Connect with other dads, form friendships, and expand your circle of support because strong communities provide a foundation for raising confident, connected children.
  • Share & Learn Together: Be part of a supportive network where fathers encourage, mentor, and uplift each other in a spirit of mutual growth.
  • Cultivate Confidence: Grow in your role with the encouragement and worth found in a community that values your presence and contributions.
  • Sustain a Legacy: Help nurture a self-sustaining father-led community where purpose, mentorship, and collective wisdom are shared and cherished.
