Program

Stitch-Up Society with Sam

Fortnightly event intended as a time for you to create, learn and relax over some nibbles and some great company.  Bring along an idea, project, or sewing query and Sam from Stitch Up Society will be there to offer some hints and tips of how to go about it and hopefully, in turn divert some textile waste from landfill.

Come along with anything that needs mending, altering or upcycling.  There will be machines, tools and equipment for you to borrow (plus some enthusiasm), and nibbles if you need some sustenance to keep you going 😉

So even if you don’t know how to thread a needle or you’re the next Vivienne Westwood of Taranaki, come along and see what it’s all about.

Session Options:

  • STITCH-UP – Come along with anything that needs mending, altering or upcycling. There will be machines, tools and equipment for you to borrow.
  • MINI STITCHERS – Mini Stitchers is for kids aged 8-12 who want to learn how to sew while also learning about the effects the textile industry has on the environment. They’ll pick up handy skills through fun, bite-sized projects, and by the end of the six-week course, they’ll be sewing like a pro… or at least like a Grandma (who are basically sewing legends!). You’ll need to book in for these sessions using the link below
