Move your body I Wear your pēpi I Meet your village

Māmā to Rowan and an overly affectionate kurī Hugo, Jodie’s a babywearing enthusiast who loves tramping, dancing, sewing and coffee/fluffy dates. Her favourite part of Kangatraining is the seamless blend between dance, fitness, babywearing and community.

Jodie’s classes are welcoming, fun and packed full of movement that’s suitable for all fitness levels, no experience required. Kangatraining is more than just postnatal fitness; it’s a supportive space where you can feel confident, connected and strong as you navigate life with pēpi.

What is Kangatraining?
Kangatraining is postnatal safe dance fitness for you and pēpi – where movement and connection leave you feeling strong, supported and ready to tackle parenthood. Our full body, low impact exercise classes are designed by women’s health physiotherapists, midwives and babywearing consultants to look after both you and pēpi.

Benefits of Kangatraining:
● No babysitter required
● Full body workout
● Bond with pēpi while doing something for yourself
● Promotes healthy mind and body
● Learn safe and healthy babywearing
● Relaxed, supportive and fun

What happens during a Kangatraining class?
Class starts with a warm up and some floorwork focusing on firing up your core and pelvic floor muscles. Jodie will help you get pēpi safely into a carrier and you’ll move into some beginner friendly dancing, as well as squats, lunges and arm exercises before stretching to finish. Class takes approximately 1 hour.

When Can I Start Taking Classes?
If you’re the birthing parent you’ll need to be 6-12 weeks postpartum with an all-clear to exercise from your healthcare professional. There is no age limit for babies and older siblings are welcome to come along too.
