Awhi childminding at Flourish

A childminding service created to tautoko, support the wellbeing of our Flourish parenting community.

Our Te Māmā seesions primarily support the wellbeing of the primary caregiver, recognising the significance of the primary attachment in a child’s life – this includes all types of caregivers and relationships.

Awhi, in Māori world view is ‘to care for, nurture, embrace and cherish’. The awhi way is about being connected to the whenua/land.

We hope to form a warm supportive connection with you and your tamaiti/child.

When

Awhi is available during our Te Māmā Wellbeing sessions on Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:00am. This is offered to support our parents to be able to come along to the wellbeing sessions.

Check out our calendar of events here.

Please note that some Te Māmā sessions require a children-free hall, so māmā can fully participate and immerse in the experience. When this is the case, our recommendations will be shared in advance, and can also be read on the Te Māmā website.

What

At Awhi, we follow the needs of you and your child. Please be open to your child still requiring your presence, especially for the first few experiences with us. At Awhi we do our best to follow the requests of your whānau.

Bookings will always be on a weekly basis. Confirmation is given in order of the booking. We advise booking as early as you can, so as to not miss out as there are limited spaces.

Cost

While the wellbeing sessions are free, we do appreciate your support with the cost of running the Awhi childminding sessions.

We suggest $15 per session (an additional $5 per child from the same whānau).

Payment Options

Cash and online are both possible. We know you will give what you can, when you can.

New to Awhi and Te Māmā?
